Who We Are
Tenrec is a website management agency founded in San Francisco in 1997 and now operating as a fully remote company with employees in seven states and three countries. Our primary service is managing the WordPress-powered websites of professional service firms and software companies.
While we sometimes design and build websites, our primary focus is on hosting, managing and optimizing all aspects of critical business websites and web applications. Our services include web engineering, web design, traffic generation, traffic analytics, compliance testing, systems integration, digital marketing consulting, quality assurance, training, project management, hosting and more.
Tenrec is a different kind of website management agency. The essence of that difference is our focus on customer service and the level to which we collaborate with our clients. Tenrec has worked with organizations of all sizes, from Fortune 50 companies to sole proprietors. For over 25 years Tenrec’s business has been sustained by the relationships we have with our clients and the development and support services that we deliver.

Meet the Team
Zach is Tenrec’s lead WordPress and PHP developer. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development efforts on our WordPress projects. Zach loves the challenge of finding elegant solutions to technical problems, and enjoys applying his coding knowledge to client projects. Prior to Tenrec he worked for HanesBrands as a full stack web developer, and spent several years in the nonprofit sector, managing a program that worked with farmers to prevent food waste and fight food insecurity.
A native of Kansas City, MO, Zach enjoys spending time outdoors, drawing, and armchair philosophy. He also revels in ‘fun time’ with his two sons, whose current obsessions include Godzilla, stop-motion animation, and Spider-Man.
Per has over 20 years of experience helping law firms and other business entities develop and launch successful websites and web applications. As Tenrec’s primary information architect, he is responsible for drafting and overseeing the applications Tenrec creates.
Per loves to work closely with marketing and technology professionals to execute their vision on a variety of projects. Per has advised on and overseen hundreds of projects for law firms and Fortune 500 companies in his twenty five year career. Just some of the organizations he’s worked with include: Bank of America, Wells Fargo, LucasFilm, Morrison Foerster; Mayer Brown; Keker, Van Nest & Peters; Allen & Overy; Drinker Biddle & Reath; Fenwick & West and Munger, Tolles & Olson.
Prior to starting Tenrec, Per was a technology director and a teacher at the Hamlin School in San Francisco.
Per lives and works in Napa, CA with his wife and two kids but travels frequently to Portland, OR to work at Tenrec HQ.
Dustin is Tenrec’s front-end designer and developer. A graphic designer by training, he is also a developer with extensive experience in HTML/JS/CSS/PHP. His role on Tenrec projects includes conceiving and creating engaging designs and developing those designs into completed web pages. His passion is in designing and implementing user experiences that are beautiful, efficient and effective.
Prior to working at Tenrec he has work as a graphic designer for a variety of companies including a fine foods purveyor, an online learning company and a creative agency. He studied design at Boise State University.
Dustin has contributed on dozens of website projects and provided design services to nearly every Tenrec client.
In her off time, Sarah can be found camping in the beautiful backwoods of Utah or playing cooperative board games with her friends and hanging out Selene, her feline roommate.
Kate maintains and manages Tenrec’s finances and HR operations. A seasoned executive, Kate has performed management and finance roles for the Oregon Department of Justice, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and Eco Firma Farms, a carbon-neutral cannabis cultivation company she co-founded, grew and sold.
Kate is an active member of WIL (Women Innovation Leaders) and was once included in Newsweek’s “Top Ten Women of Weed.” In her spare time, she is a certified dog massage therapist and crossfit fanatic.
Mike Ingala is Tenrec’s CIO and a key technical resource at the firm. He has 23 years experience building web sites and applications dating back to his first job in technology, webmaster for an internet service provider in Wisconsin. Mike has been with Tenrec for 15 years.
Mike has broad experience in creating business-critical web applications and he plays a role in every project Tenrec executes acting as technical lead and overseeing the development team. He also regularly advises clients on issues ranging from hosting infrastructure to data and application security.
Prior to joining Tenrec, Mike spent six years at Mentor Graphics in Portland, Oregon serving as senior web developer and team lead.
Mike had a multi-disciplinary focus while studying for his degree at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. He majored in studio art and minored in math and computer science.
Mike has a full home life. His family of 5 loves to spend time in the great outdoors of Oregon and the surrounding states.
Additionally Mike has a fond appreciation for all things Disneyland and Star Wars. When he’s not spending time with his family, he loves to see live music.
James has over 25 years of application development experience. He is Tenrec’s lead web developer and our senior
James is a key contributor in the ongoing development of Tenrec’s Darwin Site Manager system.
Prior to joining Tenrec, James worked for the Port of Portland, Oregon, developing internal database applications and maintaining the organization’s public- facing websites. And prior to that he worked with Nike and Columbia Forest Products in similar IT roles.
James lives with his wife in the city of Portland, Oregon. He prides himself on never having watched or read any of the Game of Thrones series.
Kaitlin is a member of Tenrec’s account management team and our primary point person on the East Coast. With her background in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, Kaitlin has extensive experience with heavily regulated businesses and managing compliance requirements. She excels at understanding a client’s objectives and crafting strategic solutions to meet those objectives.
A native of Northern New Jersey (aka “North Jersey”), Kaitlin enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, reading, cooking, and going to the beach.
Antonio Salazar is a seasoned content creator and digital marketing strategist with a decade of rich experience in fostering brand narratives and marketing outreach across diverse digital platforms. With a knack for meticulous research and data-driven decision making, Antonio focuses on architecting long-term strategies and devising potent tools that significantly propel brand engagement and business growth for numerous companies.
His passion for knowledge is only paralleled by his commitment to delivering substantial results. His journey over the past 10 years includes working with Fortune 500 companies as well as many B2B, B2C, SaaS companies, and eCommerce. With a keen understanding of the digital marketing landscape, he works to provide a holistic approach to bolstering online presence and creating real market impact.
Antonio is an avid cook and lives on an island in the pacific northwest with his wife and dog Hazel where they enjoy the stereotypical activities like hiking, camping, kayaking, and taking ferry rides to new happy hours in the city.
Augusta supports our Client Services team. Her primary tasks include assisting clients, making website updates, managing client account information (by creating spreadsheets for everything), running and analyzing website performance reports, and monitoring sites for errors.
She has 15 years of marketing, advertising, graphic design and project management experience, primarily in the healthcare setting. Because of this, healthcare is an industry Augusta understands well – ranging from small community health centers to large corporate systems. In each role she has held, she was always drawn to website management and is happy to continue building her skills in this area with Tenrec.
Augusta is one of two Midwesterners on our team, residing in Iowa. She brings her “Midwest-Nice” attitude and work ethic to each project she is involved with.
Joining us in 2021, Augusta has helped unify the account management process, introduced new reporting opportunities, and coordinated the moving parts on a recent website migration.
Ashley is the account executive for some of Tenrec’s key clients, including several law firms and one global software company. Her day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on marketing best practices, coordinating design and development deliverables and testing website updates.
Ashley holds a degree in Graphic Design & Advertising Management from Portland State University. Her career path has included roles as a director of operations, business strategist, law firm administrative assistant and freelance graphic designer.
As the owner of Gatsby, a beloved beagle and part-time Tenrec office companion, Ashley is revered for her pet parenting skills.
In her three years at Tenrec, Ashley has lead over five projects and managed several accounts.
In his role as director of client services, Brannan spearheads and leads Tenrec’s account management efforts. This entails designing, overseeing and executing the service plans that we provide to our clients as well as supervising the account management staff.
Brannan has a deep knowledge of online marketing best practices and website maintenance. He works closely with each client to gain a thorough understanding of their goals. With this information he and his team create a support and maintenance plan customized to each client’s needs.
Brannan joined Tenrec in 2011. Prior to that, he worked as an independent SEO and website analytics consultant, helping a variety of organizations in the Portland, OR area with their online marketing plans.
